Our Mission
The Iraqi Student Project provides tuition-free education at colleges throughout the United States to young Iraqis who were displaced by war and violence to Syria and Jordan without an opportunity of furthering their education. This chapter supports students who are accepted into colleges in the New York City area.
Why You Should Care
Volunteers in every place where a student attends college form a support group, acting as a community and family for the student. We provide emotional and social support to each student as they adjust to college life and a new culture. That's the easy part and what makes it fun for us all. But the hard part is providing for the student's material needs: housing, clothing, health insurance, college books and fees as well as a computer (purchase or repair) and cell phone. Your financial support will help us carry out these responsibilities.
